Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated professional to join the classification team. You will evaluate offender adjustment and prepare release plans, supporting successful reintegration into the community.

You will verify information, maintain files, and assess eligibility using AICS, RCA, and ICA instruments. You will also handle grievances, attend treatment team meetings, and contribute to offender program planning.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience as a Probation & Parole Assistant, Correctional Officer, or Office Support Assistant or above within the Missouri Department of Corrections.
• Four or more years of vocational or paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, corrections casework/custody, law enforcement, guidance/counseling, mental health, health, substance use, public/business administration, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Serves on a classification team and evaluates offender adjustment and release plans, prepares recommendations.
• Secures and verifies information from incarcerated offenders and maintains classification files.
• Assesses status for program eligibility using AICS, RCA, and ICA instruments.
• Acts as grievance officer and handles IRRs, hearings, and treatment team meetings.
