Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring a counselor to support the Gadsden Correctional Facility in Quincy, FL. The role focuses on developing and implementing professional individual and group counseling programs for inmates in compliance with ACA standards and Florida directives.

You will report to the case manager supervisor, maintain PSD folders, and provide ongoing educational, vocational and social adjustment counseling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related field required.
• One year related experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license in Florida with acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Review background files, conduct interviews and tests as necessary to analyze and recommend a program for each inmate.
• Initiate and maintain individual PSD folders for each inmate.
• Provide direct counseling to inmates addressing personal needs or problems.
• Provide ongoing individual and group counseling for educational, vocational, and social adjustment goals.
• Coordinate program modifications as needed during inmate stays.
• Assist with development of unit plans, missions, objectives, schedules, and policies.
