Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) located at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio, seeks a counseling professional to support inmates through assessment, counseling, and re-entry planning. The role focuses on personal needs, education, and social adjustment within a secure environment.

The ideal candidate has a counseling background with experience in corrections, the ability to conduct interviews, and to coordinate program modifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling or related field required.
• Four years of correctional experience may be substituted for education.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
• Must complete annual in-service training.

Responsibilities

• Review detailed background file, conduct personal interview and test as necessary to analyze and recommend a program for each assigned inmate.
• Maintain a re-entry accountability plan.
• Provide direct aid and counseling to inmates with personal needs or problems.
• Provide continuous educational, vocational, personal and social adjustment counseling on an individual and group basis.
• Coordinate problem cases and advise on development techniques to improve guidance and social adjustment.
• Conduct training sessions and conferences to develop staff proficiency in guidance areas.
• Recommend medical or psychiatric evaluation when needed and take remedial action.
• Assist in evaluating facility services and suggest improvements.
