Rehabilitation & Correction - Mansfield Correctional Institution in Ohio is seeking a Recreation Therapist to plan and supervise inmate recreation, personal development, and structured activities such as sports, arts, and fitness. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to assess goals and document progress.

The role requires experience with coaching or fitness instruction and may require security duties. The position is full-time at Mansfield, with compensation around $22.59 per hour.

Qualifications

• 30 mos. exp. with coaching, personal training, &/or fitness instruction or 30 mos. exp. providing work direction to incarcerated persons & training &/or development.
• Or completion of associate degree in recreation; 12 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or completion of undergraduate core program in recreation; 6 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or 6 mos. exp. as General Activities Therapist 1, 44211.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsabilités

• Plans, conducts, implements and monitors recreation, personal development, structured therapeutic and entertainment activities for inmates.
• Serves on interdisciplinary team and analyzes, assesses, evaluates and defines treatment goals and activities.
• Observes participants during activities.
• Prepares and maintains work related documentation and reports.
• Performs security functions as required (e.g., man-down, shakedown, inmate movement).
• Attends meetings, conferences and/or training sessions and maintains clean, safe work areas.
• Responsible for storage, issuance and maintenance of supplies; picks up and delivers production goods.
• Performs job and fixture set-up; relieves supervisor in their absence.
