Job summary

Alpharus Health is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to support residents at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe, MO. This full-time role follows a Monday–Friday schedule with standard business hours.

The position involves conducting assessments, providing individual and group counseling, and documenting progress in patient records. Entry-level credentials are acceptable with MAADC certification within 30 days and DOC clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain MAADC certification within 30 days.
• Must obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.
• Gateway trainings and clinical supervision will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plan.
• Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
• Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients' progress and responses to treatment; and maintains related records and charts.
• Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.
