Job summary

Alpharus Health in the United States is seeking Substance Use Counselors to assess clients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling in a correctional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, performing case management, and contributing to client care monitoring. Training is provided, with support to obtain Missouri MAADC certification within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification as MO Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) within 30 days with employer support.
• Ability to obtain Missouri Corrections clearance.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive assessments of clients’ substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plan.
• Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
• Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients’ progress and responses to treatment; and maintains related records and charts.
• Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.
