Job summary

Alpharus Health in Missouri seeks a Substance Use Counselor to provide clinical services at Ozark Correctional Center in Fordland. The role involves conducting assessments and delivering counseling within a correctional setting.

Responsibilities include completing assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual and group counseling, and documenting progress and responses to treatment, while participating in case management as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Missouri Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) certification required; MSAPCB certification preferred.
• Must be able to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive assessments of clients’ substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plan.
• Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
• Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients’ progress and responses to treatment; and maintains related records and charts.
• Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.
