Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring for a correctional counselor at the Otero County Prison Facility in Chaparral, New Mexico. The role requires a Master’s degree in counseling or a related field and licensure as LMHC, LMSW, or LAMFT (or eligible).

The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7am–3pm, with a competitive benefits package and a pay rate of $25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• NM LMHC/LMSW/LAMFT licensure required or license-eligible.
• Valid NM or TX driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments and provide treatment (classroom work, homework, group therapy and individual therapy) to inmates.
• Design tailored treatment plans based on risk factors and assessments.
• Provide group and individual counseling aligned with treatment goals.
• Evaluate progress and report monthly progress.
• Prepare post-treatment and discharge plans for reintegration.

Education

Master’s degree in counseling or related field

NM LMHC/LMSW/LAMFT licensure (active or temporary)
