• High school diploma required with relevant experience.

• Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and complete basic supervisory course within six months.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and direct security staff actions; oversee security, custody, and control of inmates.
• Assume responsibility for security of buildings and public property.
• Conduct routine unit checks to ensure staff performance, safety, cleanliness and OSHA compliance.
• Assist with inmate counts for accuracy.
• Investigate inmate complaints and disputes; arbitrate between inmates and staff.
