Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a dedicated Correctional Officer to ensure security and orderly operation of the facility. You will supervise detainees, conduct inspections, and respond to incidents under management guidance.

This role requires vigilance, communication, and adherence to policy to maintain safety. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least one year in a correctional setting, and the ability to obtain required certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a correctional setting preferred.
• Ability to write communications, documents, and reports clearly and accurately.
• Must be flexible, intellectually alert, and able to manage stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise security functions during shift as assigned by management.
• Monitor detainee movement, conduct rounds, and inspect security equipment.
• Assist staff with unit counts and incident reporting as required.
• Provide safety training and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Respond to incidents and maintain order and safety within the facility.
