Qualifications

• Four years of experience in correctional or security work for a government agency or private corrections agency.

• Possession of 30 semester hours or a high school diploma/GED with completion of CET or approved training.
• Satisfactory completion of physical training and drug testing requirements; valid driver’s license; ability to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise correctional security functions and activities.
• May serve as shift supervisor for a large facility or chief of security for smaller facilities.
• Coordinate emergency response and training exercises; conduct investigations.
• Supervise inmate counts, searches for contraband, and security procedures.
• Prepare schedules and records; liaison with local law enforcement; participate in policy formation.
