Job summary

State of Oklahoma, Department of Corrections, seeks a Correctional Security Manager II to oversee security operations at an adult facility and direct shift-level staff in accordance with policy and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in correctional or security work for a government agency or private corrections agency.
• Possession of thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university; or possession of a high school diploma or GED with approved training by the Department and certification by CLEET.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises or directs correctional security functions and activities at an adult facility; may serve as shift supervisor for multiple units.
• May serve as commander of a correctional emergency response team; schedules training exercises and coordinates activities.
• Conducts special investigations concerning incidents that occur during assigned shifts.
• Coordinates and supervises security, riot and escape procedures, including inmate counts and searches for contraband.
• Prepares daily work schedules for security personnel and maintains records concerning employees and residents.
• Conducts inspections of staff and posts; prepares administrative reports on shift operations.
• Acts as liaison to local law enforcement; provides information and arranges court appearances.
• Participates in the formulation of institutional policies, rules and regulations.
