Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is seeking a Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the St. Lucie County Jail in Fort Pierce, Florida. You will work with correctional officers and medical staff to provide care to inmates in a secure environment.

Responsibilities include health screenings, medication administration, chronic disease management, emergencies, and patient education. New grads are encouraged to apply and will be trained in correctional healthcare.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license.
• Active BLS CPR certification (AHA).
• Knowledge of nursing principles, safety, and relevant laws.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible schedule with overtime availability.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and assessments.
• Monitor and document patient health, including vital signs and histories.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, HTN, diabetes).
• Respond to emergencies and arrange transport to facilities.
• Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyles.
• Adhere to correctional protocols and maintain records.
