NaphCare, Inc. is actively seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Manatee County Jail in Palmetto, Florida.

The role blends clinical nursing with security-adjacent responsibilities to support incarcerated individuals and maintain safety. As a Correctional RN, you will perform screenings, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, respond to emergencies, and educate patients while adhering to facility protocols.

Qualifications

• Holds an active Florida RN license.
• Active BLS CPR (AHA) certification.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, occupational health and safety, infection control, and healthcare laws/regulations.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team, with flexible overtime availability.
• Must pass facility background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments for detainees.
• Monitor and document patient health, vital signs, and histories.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, and coordinate care plans.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, hypertension, diabetes).
• Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and arrange transport as needed.
• Educate patients on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices.
