Job summary

CBH Medical is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ocean County Jail in New Jersey. This full-time role offers a stable schedule, competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits in a unique correctional healthcare setting.

You will assess patients, document histories, administer medications, and lead nursing staff while upholding CBH Medical policies and safety programs. Prior corrections experience is a plus, and licensure in the state is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the state where duties are performed.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred but not required.
• Corrections experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge.
• Obtain health histories, summarize assessment data, and make triage decisions that are documented and communicated to the care team.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment programs utilizing approved protocols as directed by the Medical Director.
• Administer medications using proper techniques including IV therapy and all other approved routes; obtain diagnostic tests per physician orders.
• Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered and refer patients to appropriate providers as needed.
• Document all nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, correctional officers, and department heads.
• Provide leadership to nursing staff, identify problems, and recommend improvements in patient care, procedures, and equipment.
• Participate in quality assurance chart reviews, in-service education, and support all OSHA and employee safety programs.
• Perform within the limits of the state practice act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and all CBH Medical policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
