Job summary

CBH Medical is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time role in the Medical Department at Ocean County Jail. You will assess patients, document nursing encounters, and provide care in a correctional setting with emphasis on protocol adherence.

Requirements include an active RN license in the state, BLS/CPR certification, and at least two years of clinical experience. Corrections experience is a plus. The position offers competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the state where duties are performed.
• BLS/CPR Certification is required.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program; Baccalaureate degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge.
• Obtain health histories, summarize assessment data, and make triage decisions documented to the care team.
• Administer medications using proper techniques including IV therapy and all other approved routes; obtain diagnostic tests per physician orders.
• Provide leadership to nursing staff, identify problems, and recommend improvements in patient care, procedures, and equipment.
• Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate with care teams, correctional officers, and department heads.
• Perform within state practice act and CBH Medical policies.

What you'll do

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge
• Obtain health histories, summarize assessment data, and make triage decisions that are documented and communicated to the care team
• Develop and implement individualized treatment programs utilizing approved protocols as directed by the Medical Director
• Administer medications using proper techniques including IV therapy and all other approved routes; obtain diagnostic tests per physician orders
• Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered and refer patients to appropriate providers as needed
• Document all nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, correctional officers, and department heads
• Provide leadership to nursing staff, identify problems, and recommend improvements in patient care, procedures, and equipment
• Participate in quality assurance chart reviews, in-service education, and support all OSHA and employee safety programs
• Perform within the limits of the state practice act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and all CBH Medical policies and procedures
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in the state where duties are performed (Required)
• BLS/CPR Certification (Required)
