Job summary

Mediko is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a correctional setting at Spokane County Detention Services Jail. You will perform assessments, administer medications, and implement care plans in compliance with regulations and facility policies.

You will collaborate with physicians and mental health staff, respond to emergencies, document in the EMR, and support infection control and safety standards. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or GED is required.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in correctional settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
• Perform initial medical screenings for incoming inmates and ongoing care during incarceration.
• Administer medications and treatments in line with physician orders.
• Document patient assessments and progress in the EMR per policy and regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, mental health staff, and correctional officers to ensure quality care.
• Respond to medical emergencies and ensure timely interventions.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards within the facility.
