Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to provide on-site medical care at Lake County Jail in Baldwin, MI. The role carries daytime shifts with an hourly rate of $43–$45.

You will assess patients, administer medications, and coordinate with practitioners to deliver essential health services. Qualified applicants hold an active state nursing license, BLS certification, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in the state where services are provided.
• BLS certification with hands-on training.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders.
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner.
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate.
• Check and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriate.
• Triage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call.
• Record information in chronic clinic and outcome study documents as indicated.
• Report reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the patients’ emotional or physical condition.
• Provide patient education on topics such as correctional facility’s policies and discharge planning.
