As a Correctional RN, you will work with correctional officers and health professionals in a controlled environment, performing assessments, administering medications, and managing chronic illnesses.

Qualifications

• Holds an active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alabama (AL).
• Active BLS CPR certification (AHA).
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments for detainees.
• Monitor vital signs, document medical histories and provide direct patient care.
• Triage, assess needs, develop care plans and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension and diabetes.
• Respond to medical emergencies and arrange transport to facilities.
• Educate patients on preventative care and healthy lifestyles.
• Follow facility security protocols and collaborate with correctional officers and healthcare staff.
• Maintain accurate medical records and report relevant information.
