Job summary

CoreCivic in Leavenworth, Kansas seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for a CQI-focused role in a correctional setting. The position requires leadership in quality improvement, clinical oversight, and collaboration with physicians and staff to ensure high standards of inmate care.

The role emphasizes data-driven CQI processes and accreditation readiness. The RN must hold an active license in Kansas and meet education/experience requirements; 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with a commitment to public

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required, or 3 years related industry experience.
Must possess current RN licensure in the state of employment.
Three years of leadership/management nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Apply nursing skills in inmate/resident care.
Provide leadership to improve and sustain quality of care.
Monitor health status indicators and clinic operations.
Collect and analyze data; design interventions to address issues.
Prepare reports and CQI meetings.
Participate in accreditation and inspections.
Attend sick calls with physician and prepare inmates for examination.
Examine and assess new inmates and refer to emergency or other facilities as needed.
Provide guidance and supervise nursing staff.
