Job summary

CoreCivic seeks a Registered Nurse-CQI (Quality Assurance) to deliver high-quality nursing care in an institutional setting. The role requires leadership to improve care quality, monitor health indicators, and support accreditation activities while overseeing both licensed and non-licensed nursing staff.

You will perform sick calls with physicians, assess inmates, and coordinate care with emergency facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a degree or diploma in nursing.
• Must possess current licensure in the state of employment.
• One (1) year of professional nursing experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate nursing skills in the area and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Provide leadership in improving and sustaining quality and effectiveness of care.
• Monitor key indicators of health status and clinic operations.
• Use screening and focused study formats to detect variation in healthcare delivery process.
• Design data collection instruments; compile and analyze data; design interventions.
• Provide written reports and conduct CQI meetings.
• Participate in preparation for accreditation and inspections.
• Attend sick call with the physician and prepare examination lists and rooms.
• Examine and assess new inmates/residents and refer to emergency care when required.
• Perform emergency procedures and notify providers for orders.
• Provide guidance, supervise nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
