Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking Registered Nurses for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to join our healthcare team in an institutional setting. The role focuses on applying nursing skill sets to inmate care and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Nursing with active RN licensure and have leadership experience; correctional health care background is preferred. 8-hour shifts run Monday through Friday on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required; RN licensure in the state of employment.
• Three years of leadership/management experience preferred.
• Experience in correctional health care is a plus.

• Provide leadership to improve and sustain the quality and effectiveness of care in diverse or complex programs.
• Monitor key indicators of health status and clinic operations.
• Use screening and focused study formats to detect variation in care delivery.
• Design data collection instruments; analyze data; design interventions to address issues.
• Provide written reports and conduct CQI meetings.
• Participate in accreditation and inspections preparations.
• Attend sick calls with the physician and prepare lists of inmates to be examined.

CoreCivic is currently seeking Registered Nurses – Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) who have a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting.

The successful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements.

• Apply appropriate nursing skills in the area and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Provides leadership in improving and sustaining the quality and effectiveness of care in diverse or complex programs.
• Monitors key indicators of health status and clinic operations.
• Uses screening and focused study formats to detect variation in healthcare delivery process.
• Designs data collection instruments; compiles and analyzes data; design interventions to address issues.
• Provides written reports and conducts CQI meetings.
• Participates in preparation for accreditation and inspections.
• Attend sick call with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment
• Examine and assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries or inmates/residents who become ill or injured; refer inmates/residents to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facilities as required by their condition.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders.
• Provide guidance, supervise and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited college, university or nursing program with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Advanced Public Health or related field is required, OR must possess three years related industry experience and/or performance improvement experience.
• Must possess current RN licensure in the state of employment.
• Three (3) years of current, professional nursing experience in leadership and/or management preferred.
• Experience in a correctional health care program preferred.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
