Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies, Larned Correctional Facility in Larned, Kansas, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care within the scope of practice. The RN will advocate for patients, maintain accurate records, and ensure a safe environment for staff and inmates.

Candidates must hold an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license in Kansas, and CPR certification. This full-time position offers competitive wages, benefits, and an annual incentive program.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or have graduated from an approved RN program.
• Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• RN works in accordance with local practice acts and regulations, delegates and ensures supervision of nursing activities to other competent nursing personnel.
• CPR certification is active and maintained as part of ongoing practice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions and side effects.
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ condition.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
• Prepare patients for examinations or treatments and assist as needed.
• Instruct patients and families on health education and disease prevention; contribute to health improvement programs.
