Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking Psychologists to provide high-quality mental health care in an institutional setting. The role involves screenings, assessments, and developing treatment plans for inmates, in collaboration with a mental health team.

You will conduct rounds, apply counseling techniques, and address crises while coordinating with psychiatry, nursing, chaplain, and security staff to ensure integrated care. A Doctoral degree and valid license are required.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology
• License to practice psychology in the state
• Two years clinical experience (one year in a comparable position)
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum age 18

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on records and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Confers with other clinical staff to gather information and ensure treatment activities are integrated and follow-through occurs.
• Develops, implements, and modifies individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and functioning.
• Makes regular rounds in segregation or other housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques for caseload treatments and activities.
• Provides mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions for inmates.
• Consults with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security staff to understand escalation of problems and changes in mental health.
