Responsibilities

• Stands watch in halls or towers to control inmate movement.
• Supervises inmate groups on work details and checks in/out inmates.
• Inspects quarters for safety and contraband; searches inmates and visitors.
• Maintains alertness and reports unusual conditions or disturbances.
• Completes reports on inmate behavior, progress, and incidents.
• Explains rules and available services to inmates and assists with personal problems.
