State of Colorado is seeking a dedicated Correctional Officer I to maintain safety and security across CDOC facilities. You will interact with inmates, staff, and the public while following procedures and reporting accurately. The role requires vigilance, physical stamina, and a commitment to public safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong work ethic, accountability and integrity are required.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with inmates in a locked facility.
• Monitor and control access to the facility and restricted areas.
• Man an armed post with annual firearms certification.
• Monitor facility perimeter and detain unidentified persons or vehicles.
• Operate security devices, doors, alarms and log daily movements.
• Escort and transport inmates in state vehicles as needed.
