Job summary

State of Colorado is seeking a dedicated Correctional Officer I to maintain safety and security across CDOC facilities, including monitoring inmate movement, handling searches, and responding to emergencies. The role requires strict adherence to protocols and teamwork within a 24/7 facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Duties require cooperation with staff and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with inmates in a locked facility.
• Monitor and control access to the facility and restricted areas.
• Man an armed post with annual firearms certification.
• Monitor facility perimeter and detain unidentified individuals or vehicles.
• Operate doors, security devices, alarms and related equipment.
• Escort and transport inmates in state vehicles.
• Maintain health, safety and sanitation standards.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents per procedures.
