Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Be a citizen of the United States.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed the basic recruit training course for correctional officers and have one year of experience as a certified officer with the State of Florida.
• Must not have received a suspension within the past 12 months.
• Must not have received an involuntary demotion within the past 24 months.
• Must not have received less than a 3.00 rating on a performance evaluation within the past 3 fiscal years.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates officers and sergeants on security posts across shifts.
• Serves as initial Commander during emergencies and plans staffing and duties for shifts.
• Delegates post assignments, coordinates leave, and ensures attendance reports are completed.
• Maintains security by supervising searches for contraband and inspecting facilities.
