Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections seeks a Registered Nurse Supervisor at Nottoway Correctional Center to oversee nursing staff and ensure high-quality inmate care. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Virginia RN license.
• Knowledge of nursing and supervisory principles and practices.
• Knowledge of medication usage, actions, and side effects.

Responsibilities

• Oversees work of LPNs and other medical staff.
• Directs a staff of nurses and support services with physician/dentist/psychologist/security coordination.
• Provides skilled nursing care to inmates and emergency care when needed.
• Assesses health problems, administers medications, and initiates emergency interventions.
• Develops medical/nursing guidelines and maintains medical records.
