Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a Registered Nurse Supervisor for Sussex State Prison to oversee nursing staff, deliver inmate healthcare, and coordinate with physicians and security personnel. The role includes administering medications, assessing inmates, and providing emergency care as needed.

Qualifications include a Graduate of an accredited nursing program and a Virginia RN license (or multi-state compact). Leadership experience in corrections or healthcare settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Virginia RN license or multi-state compact license.
• Knowledge of nursing and supervisory principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work of LPNs and other medical staff.
• Direct a staff of nurses and support services in coordination with physician and other staff.
• Provide skilled nursing care and administer prescribed medications.
• Develop and implement medical/nursing guidelines and maintain medical records.
• Provide training and health education to inmates and staff.
