Job summary

Nurse Practitioner #00030: River North Correctional Center is hiring to serve inmates with comprehensive medical care. You will perform initial and ongoing medical assessments, prescribe medications, and help develop treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications include Virginia NP licensure and graduation from an accredited program, with DSM knowledge and BLS certification upon hire. A $10,000 sign-on bonus or up to $10,000 student loan repayment may be available for eligible

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school.
Licensed to practice in the State of Virginia as a Nurse Practitioner.
Extensive knowledge of diagnosing and treating injuries, diseases, and deformities.
Comprehensive knowledge of DSM diagnostic criteria.
Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of practice.
Ability to function on an interdisciplinary treatment team and communicate with staff.
BLS certification through AHA or ARC required upon hire.

Responsibilities

To function as a medical health provider to the inmates by performing initial and ongoing medical assessments, prescribing appropriate medication and/or mechanical measures to assist inmates with their medical needs, and assisting with preparation/modification of medical treatment plans.
Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.
