Job summary

Purposelink Recruitment is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care for incarcerated individuals within a correctional health setting in the Galveston area. The role emphasizes diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, with sick-call coverage, treatment planning, and patient education.

You will document in NextGen EMR and work with facility staff to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher required.
• 1+ years in Primary Care and 1+ years in Care Management.
• 1+ years in Correctional Care or Correctional Medicine.
• Valid DEA license required.
• License/certification: FNP, AGNP, or NP.
• License/certification: ARC BLS, AHA BLS, or AHA ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Provide sick-call coverage and same-day medical evaluations.
• Develop and monitor treatment plans.
• Educate patients on medications, disease management, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in NextGen EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to ensure quality patient care.
