NaphCare is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Alabama Department of Corrections at Bibb Correctional Facility in Brent, AL. In this correctional setting you will assess, diagnose, and treat inmates, prescribe medications, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with officers and medical staff to deliver comprehensive health care.

The ideal candidate holds an advanced nursing degree, AL NP license, DEA registration, and an on-site collaborative agreement with the physician.

Competenze

Advanced nursing education required.
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in AL.
Current DEA registration.
Collaborative agreement with on-site Physician.
BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred).
Board certification recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and in a team.
Experience working in a correctional facility or acute care center is a plus.
Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Mansioni

Conduct physical examinations, develop treatment plans and monitor patients.
Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
Administer medications and provide instructions to patients.
Monitor and document patient health including vital signs and histories.
Provide direct patient care, triage, assess needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
Respond to medical emergencies and arrange timely transport to facilities.
Educate patients on preventative care and healthy lifestyle choices.
