Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse at the Chief James Smith Correctional Center / Medical. You will provide direct nursing care, perform assessments, plan and implement care, and educate patients and staff on health promotion and disease prevention.

The role includes supervision of staff, coordination of care, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards and the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act. On-site work across shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess health status of individuals, families, and communities; develop plans and implement nursing interventions.
• Deliver professional nursing care in an assigned unit, clinic, home, or other setting.
• Educate individuals and communities about disease prevention and health promotion.
• Provide supervision to other personnel and coordinate with health care team.
• Delegate tasks safely and in accordance with the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.
• Ensure quality health care through chart reviews, peer reviews, and outcome assessments.
• Develop and present educational programs and mentor staff when needed.
