Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Must conform to the security standards of the institution where employed.
• Hands-On CPR certified.

Aufgaben

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet the psychological, psychosocial and emotional needs of inmate-patients.
• Performs assessments in various settings (intake, health care unit, sick call, emergency, chronic care).
• Plans nursing care based on assessments and initiates appropriate nursing care per policies.
• Documents plans and nursing care and provides inmate education as part of total patient care.
• Evaluates inmate-patient responses and refers to health care team as needed.
• As a team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties and guides care for others.
• Maintains infection control and safety in the clinical environment.
• Participates in unit meetings and quality improvement activities.
