Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Correctional Mental Health professional in Conneaut, Ohio, to serve as Mental Health Therapist in a correctional facility. The role involves conducting mental health screenings, developing treatment plans, and delivering non-medical clinical services to inmates, with a salary range of $72,000 to $82,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related clinical area.
• Five years of clinical experience including two years in a comparable job position.
• OH LPCC or LISW certification or licensing.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred unless required by contract or applicable statute.
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments from available records and interviews with inmates.
• Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and functioning.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
• Demonstrates knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques with caseload treatments and activities.
• Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions to address inmate needs.
