Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist in San Diego, CA to provide clinical mental health services in a correctional setting. The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and state licensure (LPC/LMFT/LCSW) with at least five years of clinical experience.

This is an ongoing staff position within a secure facility. The successful candidate will conduct screenings, develop treatment plans, document care, maintain confidentiality, and deliver counseling and crisis

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related clinical field.
• Five years of clinical experience, including two years in a comparable job position.
• Must possess LPC, LMFT, or LCSW certification or licensing in the practicing state.
• Minimum age requirement: 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments of inmates.
• Develop, implement and modify individual treatment plans based on needs and functioning.
• Document treatment and evaluation activities in health care records.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information at all times.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling and crisis interventions to address inmate needs.
