Job summary

CoreCivic in San Diego, California seeks a licensed Correctional Psychologist to provide psychiatric therapy within an institutional setting. The role requires doctoral training, an active psychology license, and at least two years of clinical experience, including one year in a similar position.

You will conduct screenings, develop treatment plans, perform rounds, and collaborate with psychiatry and nursing to ensure integrated patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted psychology license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of two years clinical experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Minimum age 21 years.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychological screenings and assessments based on records and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Confers with psychiatrists, mental health staff, physicians, nurses, social workers to coordinate care.
• Develops, implements, and modifies individual treatment plans based on evaluation.
• Makes rounds to assess inmate adjustment and treatment needs.
• Provides counseling and crisis interventions as needed.
• Consults with medical and security staff to understand behavior changes and escalation factors.
