Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Wichita Falls is seeking a Corr Medication Aide Trainee to support the Unit Medication Room operations and to distribute medications from filled prescriptions. The role involves working under supervision to ensure accurate medication delivery and documentation.

Primary qualifications include EMT-P credential or completion of a certified medication aide training course with state exam; full-time schedule with hourly pay from $15 to $28.50, based on

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent and EMT-P with current credential from the Texas Department of State Health Services, OR successful completion of a certified medication aide training course and passage of State exam.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with patients to deliver and administer medications as ordered by providers.
  • Following compliance and department standards to ensure patient safety.
  • Ensuring physical control of medications within department standards.
  • Documenting activities in patients' health records and medication administration systems.
  • Supporting clinical activities in the health facility under the direction of the facility director and nurse management.
  • Performing other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties in the job classification.

This position assists in the overall operation of the UnitMedication Room and distributes clients medications from filledprescriptions.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Coordinates with patients to deliver and administer medicationsas ordered and prescribed by providers.
  • Follows compliance and departmental standards to ensurepatients’ safety is prioritized.
  • Ensures physical control of medications is always withindepartment standards.
  • Clearly, concisely, and timely documents activities inpatients’ health records and medication administrationsystems.
  • Within the scope of the specific credentials of the teammember, the team member will support clinical activities in thehealth facility under the direction of the facility director andnurse management.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which arereasonably within the scope of the duties in the job classificationand/or position description.

Applicants will be considered for either a Correctional MedicationAide or Correctional Medication Aide Trainee level position basedon education, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications
