Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join the Adams County Adult Correctional Complex in Gettysburg, PA.

This full-time daytime role supports nursing staff, conducts intake and vital signs, and helps prepare examination areas in a secure setting. The position offers increased pay rates, tuition reimbursement, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, Life Insurance, PTO, and a 401k with match.

Qualifications

• Must currently hold a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Excellent communication and telephone manner.
• Ability to multi-task and follow instructions.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with medical office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial intake screenings and vital signs per protocol.
• Prepare examination and treatment areas and maintain cleanliness.
• Document medications and lab specimens as ordered.
• Administer tuberculin skin testing for new inmates.
• Type reports and manage filing, calls, and confidentiality.
• Support nursing staff during orientation and training period.
