PrimeCare Medical Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Medical Department at the Chester County Prison in West Chester, PA.

The role offers part-time daytime shift or full-time evening shift with responsibilities ranging from intake and vital signs to lab work and medication management. The ideal candidate has CMA certification, completion of an approved MA program, and at least 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved Medical Assistant program and CMA certification.
• Minimum of 2 years medical assistant or medical office administrative support.
• Clerical experience and ability to type.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multitasking.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial intake screening on new patients and record vitals.
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
• Phone verification of medications and medical information.
• Obtain lab specimens including venipunctures.
• Perform treatments ordered by a physician.
• Maintain medication records.
• Administer tuberculin skin testing for new intakes and follow-ups.
• Typing of reports, letters and memoranda.
• Answering telephone and processing calls; maintain filing and confidentiality.
• Follow universal precautions and maintain a positive attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PrimeCare Medical Inc. is looking for enthusiastic and hard-working Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) to work part-time on the day shift or full-time on the evening shift in the Medical Department at the Chester County Prison in West Chester, PA. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks such as medical records request, administrative reports, Continuity of Care (COC) release, and other medical duties.

Available Shifts: PT Day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), FT Eve (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks and duties including performing the initial intake screening on new receptions, taking vital signs and completing all appropriate intake forms per written protocol. In addition, the Medical Assistant will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas for the facility.

Other responsibilities for the Medical Assistant will include:

• Phoning verification of medications and medical information.
• Obtaining lab specimens as ordered by the physician (to include Venipunctures).
• Performing various treatments ordered by a Physician.
• Maintaining medication records.
• Administering tuberculin skin testing on new intakes and on annual follow-ups due on all inmates/patients.
• Typing of various reports, letters and memoranda.
• Answering telephone and process calls.
• Maintaining filing system and confidentiality of information at all times.
• Following universal precautions at all times.
• Maintaining pleasant working attitude.
• Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated

Requirements

The Medical Assistant must have completed an approved Medical Assistant program and also bring some clerical experience and ability to type to the position in order to be considered.
