Job summary

State of Indiana, Westville Correctional Facility, is seeking a Correctional Intelligence Officer to join a small team of investigators. You will investigate incidents, review digital footage, monitor communications, and gather evidence to support internal and external cases while ensuring compliance with laws and policies.

The role emphasizes after-hours response to significant incidents, trial preparation, and providing expert testimony.

Qualifications

• Must be able to demonstrate investigative knowledge and practices.
• Working knowledge of Federal laws, Indiana codes, and Department of Correction policies.
• Understanding due process, criminal and civil liability.
• Completion of IDOC Investigations Academy within one year is required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents involving staff, offenders, or others at the facility.
• Conduct criminal investigations and prepare reports for internal and external use.
• Gather, recover, and label evidence for cases.
• Inspect the facility to ensure security and ACA/regulatory compliance.
• Participate in trials and provide testimony in court as needed.
