Job summary

State of Indiana is hiring a Correctional Sergeant at Westville Correctional Facility to oversee security, staff supervision, and offender management. You will ensure safe movement, enforce policies, and support emergency preparedness while maintaining a constructive work environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Must test negative on all drug screenings.
• High School Diploma or High School Equivalent and at least 6 months experience in corrections or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Manage safe offender movement and oversee meal delivery operations.
• Lead assigned staff to maintain security and safety of offenders, buildings, and grounds.
• Escort offenders to and from locations for food, medicine, work, and recreation.
• Review movements and rule violations; provide feedback.
• Assist supervisor with security-related operations and staff administration.
• Oversee offenders in various work details and facility upkeep.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff; set expectations and monitor progress.
• Ensure attendance at the assigned worksite is maintained.
