Job summary

Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to provide and coordinate medical and behavioral health care within correctional facilities.

You will assess patients, administer prescribed medications, document care, and collaborate with practitioners to ensure safe, effective treatment. This on-site role requires an active RN license in good standing, BLS certification, excellent documentation skills, and solid knowledge of the RN scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of the RN scope of practice.
• BLS certification; hands-on training

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients.
• Contact practitioner to obtain orders
• Administer prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitioner
• Provide emergency first aid care, when appropriate
• Record vital signs, glucose checks, weight and other data on-site
• Triage intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick call
• Record care information concisely and timely
• Collaborate with multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control precautions
• Maintain and demonstrate pharmacology knowledge including drug reactions
• Maintain nutrition knowledge
• Notify supervisor of medical or safety incidents
• Present/participate in in-service education
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices
• Oversee and delegate duties within RN scope
• May cover shifts at multiple facilities
• May train new hires and coworkers
• Any other duties as assigned
