Job summary

TTUHSC in Texas seeks a licensed dentist to diagnose and treat teeth, gums, and related oral structures for inmate patients and others affected by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system. You will supervise 2-4 dental hygienists and work under the Regional Dental Director with opportunities to oversee care across units.

The role requires a current dental license and DEA registration; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice dentistry by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners required.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency controlled substances registration certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises dental staff and provides dental services.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include providing chairside dental care, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting in appraising performance; encouraging dental staff, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Travel may be required to perform chairside dentistry at other units as assigned.
