Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Correctional Managed Care unit provides general dental care to the offender population within prison facilities, under supervision with latitude for independent judgement.

Licensed Texas dentists perform duties following UTMB procedures and health service policies. Position may involve serving multiple facilities and requires security clearance.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice dentistry in Texas.
• Current registration of license to practice dentistry in Texas.
• Current DEA registration certificate.
• Current BLS-HP.
• Two years minimum general clinical practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the success of the UTMB Correctional Managed Care operation.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.

Education

Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Texas

Current registration of license to practice dentistry in the state of Texas

Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) controlled substance registration certificate

Current BLS-HP

Two (2) years minimum general clinical practice preferred
