Job summary

North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Case Manager to manage a caseload of male offenders, provide supportive counseling, assess needs, and develop case plans. Description of Work

Reporting to a Correctional Programs Supervisor, this position is responsible for a caseload of male offenders which involves supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answering and/or following up on offender questions and problems, and making recommendations to the classification committee. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, education, and/or recreation.
  • Planning and coordinating transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $37,377-$65,408

Necessary Special Qualifications:

MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Produce a negative drug screening result
  • Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

About the Division of Institutions:

The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions. The division provides safety, security, and rehabilitative services through trained custody staff, program facilitators, and administrative personnel.

About Sampson Correctional Institution:

Sampson Correctional Institution is located in Clinton, North Carolina and houses up to 462 male offenders in a medium custody facility.
