Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Case Manager at Western Correctional Center for Women in Black Mountain, NC. You will manage a caseload of offenders, provide supportive counseling, conduct assessments, and develop case plans while coordinating with classifications and staff.

Qualifications

• Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.

Responsibilities

• Providing supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answering and following-up on offenders’ questions and concerns as well as making recommendations to the classifications committee.
• Communicating effectively with other staff, offenders and the general public and working under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders.
• Performing crisis interventions to include suicide prevention.
• Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinate major or specialized programs for rehabilitation of offenders, such as work assignments, work release, education or recreation.
• Preparing written reports reflecting data reviewed by various sources, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating documents and behavior data gathered from interviews and observations.
