Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Correctional Case Manager at James Crabtree Correctional Center to perform routine social casework and offender re-entry services. The role includes classification, counseling and program delivery for offenders.

The position is full-time and on-site, with salary levels defined as Level I, II, and III and non-negotiable for all levels. Job type is Regular and on-site at the James Crabtree Correctional Center.

Qualifications

• Level I: bachelor’s degree or equivalent; substitution: 1 year inmate-contact experience per 30 semester hours
• Level II: bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant correctional work; master’s may substitute for 1 year of experience
• Level III: bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant correctional work; master’s may substitute for 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Uses interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine offender security risks and programmatic needs; prepares case history reports and recommends program assignments.
• Reviews work and conduct records to determine progress or need for reassignment; participates in classification unit for caseload.
• Advises offenders on personal problems, employment resources, vocational skills, educational needs and institutional adjustment.
• Delivers programs to aid re-entry into the community after release from incarceration.
• Prepares reports such as parole summaries or presentence investigations.
• Manages incoming/outgoing mail for assigned offenders.
• Develops, monitors and amends offender transition plans aligned with re-entry programs.
• Establishes collaborative networks with partners to provide pre/post-release services for offenders and families.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (Level I) or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor’s degree plus two years of correctional records management or social casework (Level II)

Bachelor’s degree plus three years of correctional records management or social casework (Level III)
