Job summary

State of Oklahoma, Department of Corrections, is seeking a Correctional Case Manager at Dick Conner Correctional Center to perform routine social casework in offender classification and re-entry planning. The role involves interviewing offenders, assessing risks and needs, and preparing reports to guide assignments and programs.

This on-site position requires a bachelor's degree and may include multiple levels with specific education/experience; salary bands are set and non-negotiable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; substitute 1 year of correctional facility experience for 30 semester hours of education.
• Knowledge of vocational guidance and social adjustment principles and of interviewing and counseling techniques.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to communicate effectively; and to determine which segment of the facility is best suited to an offender’s social and correctional needs.

Responsibilities

• Use interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine security risks and programmatic needs.
• Prepare case history reports and recommend program assignments.
• Advise offenders on personal problems, employment resources, and educational needs; support re-entry into the community.
• Deliver programs for offenders to aid successful re-entry after release.
• Develop offender transition plans and collaborate with partners to provide pre/post-release services.
